The Outdoors
Fairview’s garden embraces nature, with what others describe as ‘weeds’ proliferating the wild edges.

The garden is left a month between cuts to aid flowers, local bees and the visiting wildlife, with rabbits, pheasant, fox, deer and many species of birds wandering through occasionally.

Growth springs up in different spots throughout the year.
Snowdrops early in the year then Bluebells from March, wild garlic helps keep bugs at bay by the back door.
The cherry blossom of spring has a scent that captivates. Wild strawberries litter an area outside the lounge window. Even in October, as the sunset lowers out of the back window, flowers pop from the borders to delight. There is lots to discover here throughout the year, including the increasingly rare Fyfield Pea that flowers twice a year.

The Location
When they talk ‘location’, while this might be on an active B-road, it’s also often a haven with all that you need for a relaxing time away, right on your doorstep.

Just a 22 minute drive to Epping Station (Central Line) for London, or the same north for Stansted Airport (a viable option pre-flight), as well as 30 minutes away from Epping Forest and a plethora of golf courses all around.

Check out Top Golf, Lee Valley for rafting, Foot- and crazy-golf, many canal or forest walks and so much more just a short drive away.

Closer to home, this family-activity-filled home is surrounded by a network of footpaths to explore including the Essex Way.

Parking
Driveway has ample parking for 5 cars, 6/7 at a squeeze.
Just a few houses down from the house is a layby, but this should be avoided please, as ‘private road’ notices have recently been installed.

Pets
We welcome well-behaved, house-trained owners and their very well behaved pets – but please keep them downstairs and out of bedrooms to aid anyone with mild allergies, thank you.

The neighbourhood

Whether it’s a family get together, a shared house for guests at one of the many local wedding venues, or a golfing weekend - this home is situated in a lovely central spot in Essex, a short drive from the M11 but far enough away!

Nearest grocery shops & pharmacy
Fyfield village shop and post office – 5 minute walk.
Ongar: Tesco, Sainsbury, pharmacy, Nisa and more – 5 min drive.

Recommended local restaurants, cafes or places to go out.

Served by just a handful of ‘food delivery’ options, but located nearly opposite a well-loved local, The Black Bull, and just a few more minutes into the village houses.

The Queens Head, an award winning restaurant.

Turn right out the drive for lunch or dinner at the well-loved Smith’s (book ahead), or in the other direction for far less formal daytime fayre are a number of ‘farm-shop/restaurant establishments’, including Bretts.

Similar, but with a playbarn on the side and more, is the very family friendly Ashlyns Farm.

Down Hall Hotel, the home of the famous BBC’s “Bake Off” and “M.A.F.S”. getaway, houses a wonderful spa. They also provide afternoon tea, as does the lovely Mulberry Hall.

All supermarkets deliver to this address too. Sadly there’s not enough space to tell you of all the amazing choices – but whatever you do, don’t miss out on a trip to Ongar’s Cheese Shop with an amazing selection to choose from.

And let’s not forget our favourite ‘close ones’ with the dog, The Kings Head in Ongar or White Hart in Moreton that have nice walks close by. With many excellent pubs and walks throughout the area.

Other things to note

Fairview is on a road that many a ‘transit’ enthusiast loves to drive or ride, so please don’t say we didn’t warn you that you will hear passing traffic and farming machinery.

Highlights, however, are that it’s on the run for most UK bike events and, annually, the very-lit, overnight, Dunwich Dynamo. And when it’s quiet, it’s very quiet.
