2 Bathrooms This comfortable and spacious family home is located in Milngavie, in the north of Glasgow. It sits on the edge of a large park and is a pleasant 20-minute walk from Milngavie town centre, which has regular direct trains into central Glasgow and is the starting point for the West Highland Way. The stunning Loch Lomond and Trossach’s National Park are just a half-hour drive away.
The property has two upstairs bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and one with a double. There is also an optional sofa bed in one of the downstairs living rooms, which is large enough to sleep two.
Downstairs features a bright and homely open plan kitchen, dining and living space - perfect for relaxing and socialising - as well as a separate living room and a utility area with washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. There are two bathrooms, including one with a bath.
The property’s owners – Karen and Alexandre – invite guests to enjoy the fresh plums and pears from the trees out front when in season, as well as home-grown rhubarb from the back garden.
The house has its own entrance, a private front and back garden, and a private driveway with parking space for up to three cars. You will have exclusive access to the entire home throughout your stay.
Complimentary towels, shampoo, shower gel and soap are provided for guests, as well as tea and coffee.
Nearest grocery shops & pharmacy:
- 3 pharmacies available in Milngavie town centre (approx 20 minute walk).
- 2 small grocery shops (and a post office) available within 6 minutes walk (Day Today and Key Store).
- Large Tesco and Waitrose stores are less than 10 mins drive away and there is an M&S Food in Milngavie town centre.
Recommended local restaurants, cafes or places to go out:
- Gavin’s Mill – Nice café in Milngavie with an outside area to sit by the river. Does delicious cheese scones! Also has its own Fair Trade shop next door.
- Garvie’s – pub/bar-style menu. Nice restaurant in Milngavie town centre to eat out in the evening.
- Cameron House – luxury restaurant and spa on the banks of Loch Lomond (28 min drive away)
We offer flexible check-in & check-out times, however where we have guests coming or leaving the same day we may apply usual check-in times after 15:00 and check-out times before 11:00.
There is a keylock box available so collecting the key and access anytime should be possible. You will need to return the key to the keylock box when you checkout. We require you to provide your arrival and departure timing to agree checkin and checkout times so we can coordinate with other guests. If you stay beyond your agreed check-out time you will be liable to pay for an extra night at your average nightly price.
The cleaning fee covers cleaning and preparation of the property for your stay as well as a set of fresh linen and towelling provided for each guest. This includes one set per your stay, should you require additional towelling or linen please request this or if you have opened a fresh pack even if you use only a few items there will be a charge of £30 per pack - each pack contains fresh linen, large and small towels.
Any parties, gatherings or events are strictly not permitted - the property is for accommodation purposes only for the registered guests staying. The home is in a residential area, so please refrain from excessive noise or any activity that could disturb neighbours at any time. If any party, event, gathering, or noise disturbance is reported or evidenced, you may be required to leave immediately with no refund for any remaining nights. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises, and for fire safety burning candles, incense, oil burners or any other open-flame or smouldering materials is strictly forbidden. If any evidence of a party, gathering or event is found, or if smoking occurs, a charge of £750 will apply (per incident), plus any additional costs for damages, extra cleaning and odour removal required to return the property to good order. We trust you will respect the property and our neighbours throughout your stay.
You are required to keep the place reasonably clean & tidy - no dirty dishes left over or excessive rubbish to be disposed of as this is not included in the cleaning charge. If the place is very messy or untidy or there is excessive rubbish to be disposed of then we will need to request an extra cleaning fee.
No pets are allowed unless shown on the listing as permitted or expressly agreed with the owner.
Lost keys, damaged keys or getting locked out will incur a charge starting from £100 for replacement depending on the type of key and time required or getting you back in the property if you have locked yourself out.
We do not accept Cash payment for any of the charges mentioned above.
Guests have access to the entire home during stay.
We engage the services of a professional management company to ensure we are always contactable, and your stay is stress free.
For insurance reasons, the lead guest must be over 25 years old, and ID verification is required for all bookings.
Minimum stay is 3 nights.
Gardeners attend the property once a month between March and November to mow the lawn. They will be mindful of guests' privacy.
